Kieran Goss was born and raised in Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland.

One of a family of fifteen (honestly!), he studied Law at Queen's University Belfast, but after qualifying as a lawyer in 1985, he turned his back on a legal career to concentrate on songwriting.

Kieran has released five albums to date; four solo albums, and one duo album with Frances Black.

Kieran Goss is not only one of the top songwriters in Ireland, he is also one of the biggest selling recording artists in the country. His last album, 'Worse Than Pride', sold 30,000 units in nine months (double platinum status), going straight in to number 7 in the charts in the first week of its release. The album yielded two Top 20 singles and was still in the Irish Top 50, nine months after its release. No mean achievement, considering that it was Kieran's first release on his own label, Cog Communications.

The first single, 'Out Of My Head', brought Kieran back into the public eye after a break of two years dedicated to writing and recording. For several consecutive weeks, it was the second most played song on Irish radio - the most played being Celine Dion's hit "My Heart Will Go On", from the movie 'Titanic'. Supported by national television and radio advertising, and two sellout national tours, 'Worse Than Pride' attained double platinum status. To finish off a great year, Irish Music Magazine voted Kieran "Best Contemporary Artist of 1998".

In March 1998, Kieran signed a worldwide publishing deal with Peermusic. Since then, he has co-written with some of the top songwriters in Los Angeles and Nashville (Jud Friedman, Brenda Russell, Rodney Crowell, Gordon Kennedy).

Kieran's new album 'red-letter day' was released in Ireland on May 5th 2000 and went straight into the Irish album charts at number 5.
